Your Itinerary

DAY 1 – Canberra to Yarrangobilly

Early morning pick-up from your Canberra accommodation. Cruise through the Monaro plains and into the high country, with a morning tea stop at the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre in Cooma. Lunch is in Adaminaby, before a visit to the Snowy Scheme Museum. We then head into the national park to Yarrangobilly Caves in time for your Eco Tech tour. Local wine and nibbles, and your two course homemade dinner is provided at your accommodation in Caves House.

Day 2 – Yarrangobilly to Khancoban

After your guided tour of the spectacular Jillabenan Cave (fully accessible), we head to the Hydro Scheme town of Cabramurra (Australia’s highest town) for lunch. We then continue through the park to Khancoban, viewing magnificent scenery, and some of the Scheme’s infrastructure along the way. Another two course homemade dinner is provided at your accommodation, which happens to be where the Queen and the Duke stayed on their 1963 visit to Australia!

Day 3 – Khancoban to Jindabyne

After breakfast we head to Murray 2 Power Station for a very interesting and informative tour. We then continue through the national park along the scenic Alpine Way to Australia’s highest distillery for lunch, and schnapps and gin tasting. We arrive at your lakefront accommodation in Jindabyne in time for a stroll along the foreshore before dinner in-house.

Day 4 – Jindabyne to Canberra

This morning we head back into the national park to visit Charlotte Pass, as well as the Snowy Scheme sites of Guthega, Munyang and Island Bend. After lunch in Jindabyne, we make our way back to Canberra for farewells, and drop-offs at your Canberra accommodation.
