Your Itinerary

Day 1 – Canberra to Yarrangobilly

Early morning pick-up from your Canberra accommodation. Cruise through the Monaro plains and into the high country, with a morning tea stop at the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre in Cooma. Lunch is in Adaminaby, before a visit to the Snowy Scheme Museum. We then head into the national park to Yarrangobilly Caves in time for your Eco Tech tour. Local wine and nibbles, and your two course homemade dinner is provided at your accommodation in Caves House.

Day 2 – Yarrangobilly to Tumbarumba

This morning we visit Talbingo and view the largest power station in The Scheme – Tumut 3, as well as the spectacular Talbingo Reservoir which will be part of Snowy 2.0. We then stop for morning tea in Tumut and a visit to the Tumut Broom Factory and the art gallery at the National Parks Visitors Centre. Lunch is at the fabulous Courabyra Wines in Tumbarumba, followed by a 2hr Boggy Creek Show (think ‘Outback Extravaganza’ but much smaller and much funnier!).

Day 3 – Tumbarumba to Jindabyne

Breakfast this morning is at the beautiful Braymont Gardens just south of Tumbarumba, home to one of only a handful of tree churches in the world. We then continue through the national park via Geehi along the magnificent Alpine Way to arrive in Jindabyne for lunch. Enjoy some free time to explore the town and take a stroll along the lake foreshore, before settling in to your lakefront accommodation. Dinner is in-house.

Day 4 – Jindabyne

This morning we head back into the national park to visit Thredbo Village and take a scenic chairlift ride to Australia’s highest cafe! After a picnic lunch and guided tour at the local trout hatchery, you have the choice of some more free time in town, or a visit to beautiful Charlotte Pass and the Snowy Scheme sites of Guthega, Munyang and Island Bend.

Day 4 – Jindabyne to Canberra

Experience a guided tour of historic Dalgety (the town that nearly became the nation’s capital!) and look for platypus in the Snowy River before a delicious lunch at Snowy Vineyard. After lunch we head back to Canberra for afternoon drop-offs at your accommodation.
