The inaugural KXC – Five days through the spectacular Kosciuszko National Park on pedal power!
Day 1 started out a bit windy, so we hiked to Mt Stillwell and talked about high country conservation with a scientist we met along the way. The heavens then opened up for a soggy ride down the Thredbo Valley Trail (TVT) to Lake Crackenback Resort.
Day 2 started with a big climb out of Island Bend up Nimmo Hill. Luckily, Flynn from Gravity Jindabyne, had brought along a Specialized pedal assist bike for everyone to try.
Day 3 was a ride north along the whole length of Lake Eucumbene, finishing near Providence Portal before our stay in the gorgeous Yaraandoo Lodge in Old Adaminaby.
After such a big Day 3, the next day was spent checking out Currango Homestead on Tantangara reservoir, while the lovely Chan made us tea and scones!
The riders agreed that Day 5 was the best ride, with a very scenic, mostly downhill cruise into the Brindabella Valley, with a cool swim in the Goodradigbee River to finish off.
The inaugural KXC was a resounding success, with lots of riding and lots of laughs enjoyed by all! We are already looking forward to the next one…. Bring it on!!
