Come and celebrate Christmas in July ‘with a difference’ with Gang Gang Tours!

Day 1 – Canberra to Millthorpe (L)

Experience the delights of Glen Donald Estate near Young for our extended lunch stop. Award-winning olives, garlic, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings, baby animal feeding, orchard tour and settlers’ cottage. Let Natalie and Robert share the story of the estate and their farming experience with you, while you enjoy a scrumptious homemade lunch.

Day 2 – Millthorpe to Bathurst (B,L)

Today we experience a 3 hour Christmas ‘cooking masterclass’ at the Barrel and Larder at Ross Hill Wines near Orange, with renowned local Spanish chef Ruben Lopez Mesa. Don’t worry – we don’t have to actually do any cooking ourselves! We can just sit there and drink wine, listen to Ruben’s Spanish Christmas stories, and eat yummy food!

As was much more eloquently articulated by a past guest of Ruben’s….. Lunch with Ruben “…was the most enjoyable, authentic, homely culinary experience. Ruben’s passion for showcasing Spanish cuisine crafted from quality Spanish and local seasonal produce is evident in not only in the heavenly dishes he serves, but also in the time and effort he puts into educating his guests on their gastronomic origins and tips for cooking at home. Ruben is a beautiful storyteller, a generous host… and a brilliant chef… Dining with Ruben is an absolutely superb experience and one you won’t forget.”

Day 3 – Bathurst to Hawkesbury Valley (B,L,D)

This morning we travel to Lithgow for a coffee stop at the fabulous Tin Shed before heading east to the absolutely spectacular Govett’s Leap lookout and Hargreaves lookout in the Blue Mountains. We will enjoy lunch at the quaint Megalong Valley Tea Rooms before a quick stop at Blackheath shops. We then take the scenic drive along the Bells Line of Road into the Hawkesbury Valley to our accommodation at the Crowne Plaza. We then enjoy the celebrations of a Christmas themed dinner with all the trimmings at the Crowne Plaza.

Day 4 – Hawkesbury Valley to Canberra (B,L)

After breakfast, enjoy the swimming pool and the beautiful grounds of the Crowne Plaza, before we head back towards Canberra. We will stop in historic Berrima for a private tour of The National Trust’s 1834 Harper’s Mansion which overlooks the town. Berrima is the only example of an existing and largely preserved Australian Georgian colonial town, and home to Australia’s oldest continually licensed inn – the Surveyor General – where we will have lunch. Enjoy a leisurely self-guided historic walking tour of the town after lunch (or hit the shops!), before we head home for drop-offs and farewells.
